School Uniform Policy

At Eaton Primary School, we believe that it is important for children to wear uniform. School uniforms are important for a variety of reasons: They reduce competition and peer pressure among students, they help keep the focus on education as opposed to fashion choices, and they reduce clothing expenses for all parents. Uniforms also encourage a sense of school pride and tradition in students.

 

School Uniform

Children should come to school each day wearing full school uniform, which is:Red cardigan or jumper (preferably with school logo – see supplier links below); grey skirt, pinafore or trousers; white shirt; school tie (available to purchase from the school office); and black school shoes.

In summer, red and white checked dresses or grey shorts may be worn.

Long hair should be tied back at all times.Jewellery should not be worn. Small stud earrings may be worn but should be removed for PE lessons.

A book bag will also be required. Children’s first book bag will be provided free of charge from school.

Wrist watches are allowed but must be removed for PE. This is an essential safety precaution. Children should not wear any makeup in school.

 

P.E. Kit

Our PE kit is:Red T-shirt (preferably with school logo – see supplier links below); black shorts and trainers/plimsolls.

School hoodies should be worn for PE during winter months. Black tracksuit bottoms may also be worn.

It is the parent/carer’s responsibility to make sure that all clothing is marked clearly with their child’s name.

 

Affordability

We try to ensure that our branded items are affordable, and that unbranded items are widely available. If families approach school with regards to financial difficulties, we can support with uniform, in confidence.

 

Religious/ cultural adaptations Any requests to the school regarding uniform adaptations based on religious or cultural grounds would be considered with reference to our equalities policy.

 

Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
